It was a somewhat unexpected birth
It was fast
It was intense
It was powerful
It was empowering
It was beautiful

I had no tearing.
I didn’t take any drug or medication during or after labour.
I declined any medical intervention for me and baby (no vit k shot, no eye ointment, no oxytocin shot).
None of it was needed.

We are both doing well. Recovering naturally and resting as much as we can.

Breastfeeding is going as well as could be.
The after birth pains were strong and painful but I managed to get through them with the proper support of herbal remedies 🌱

My body is still adjusting physically to the new me without baby inside of me…
I felt a lot of pressure on my tailbone and sacrum with this birth and I see it as an opportunity for deeper healing as I’ve been peeling layers of chronic pain, tension and imbalances in that area… ✨

I am still navigating the postpartum hormonal shift - which is mostly a tanking of all hormones - with the night sweats, the mood swings and emotional rollercoaster… but I am ever so grateful for my toolbox with all its tools that I have collected over the years…

My Midwives didn’t get to our house on time…and neither did my Doula! 😅

My labour started around 12:40 am with some mild cramps that quickly turned into actual contractions (around 1 am) which quickly got more intense and closer together…

I was quite vocal while breathing through the intensity of the sensations in my body and it woke Maya up, who came into our room.

Layne was carrying her the whole time while assisting me with filling up the pool and passing me drinks & birth supplies…

I moved from the birth ball into the pool as I felt another strong contraction. I checked “down there” and could feel his head at the opening. Another contraction and his head was out. And then very quickly with the next contraction and the ejection reflex his whole body literally “popped out, right away!” (as Maya would say often in the weeks prior to birth while looking at my belly).

I turned around, looked for him in the water, and there he was, floating peacefully underneath the surface, facing me. I picked him up, put him on my chest and a few seconds later, he took his first breath and cried.
Layne then woke up Skyla to meet her baby brother.

The Midwives arrived at the same time as my Doula.
I stepped out of the pool and birthed the placenta into a bowl while kneeling on the floor. Then we moved unto the bed. Snuggled in. Baby on my chest. He latched on very quickly to nurse. Then an hour or 2 later, Skyla cut his cord with the help of her dad and the midwife.

Everything got cleaned up and we all settled in for the night at around 5am.

Grateful for the support of amazing, beautiful women that are dedicated to protect the birth space and keep it safe 🙏🏼🤍

Our baby boy, A Z R I A H L E O was born on his due date at 40 weeks during a winter snow storm ❄️

01.31.25 at 1:31am

I had set an intention for this birth and took time to prepare my birth space, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, in a way that I hadn’t done with the births of both my girls…

This baby boy, however, was already teaching me some very precious lessons while preparing his journey earth side…

So needless to say that all my good intentions and visualizations vanished into thin air when he decided to come in his own timing and his own way!

I had said: “surely this baby can’t come any faster than the previous one?!”

The birth of our second baby, Maya, was a very fast labour and delivery and I thought for sure this one will be at least a few hours longer.

Or I wanted it to be…

Well, I was wrong!
Turns out, I was wrong about a few things…

⭐️He was born on his due date - 5% of babies are actually born on their EDD (estimated date of delivery) - like what?!

⭐️ He was my longest pregnancy - my 2 previous babies were born around 38 weeks

⭐️I thought he would be another full moon baby (my 2 girls were). Nope that didn’t happen. He was born 2 days past the new moon 🌚 instead

⭐️He was my fastest delivery and was born in about 30 min of intense labour

Seems like somehow my body got more efficient at doing this “giving birth to babies” business! 😅

This 3rd pregnancy has been feeling different since the beginning…
Is it because I am carrying a boy?
Is it because I am a busier than ever Mama of 2 young toddlers?
All of the above and so much more…

This baby has been pushing me to my limits and is preparing me for a whole new level of experiencing birth and motherhood…

On all levels of my being
Physically
Emotionally
Mentally
Spiritually

This has been a journey of learning & growing
Going deeper within me to find the wisdom, strength and intuition to guide me through each step of the way

I am healing deep hidden wounds in the process…
Of my inner child
Of my embodiment of the feminine
Of my relationship with the masculine
Of my own ego Self in conflict with my higher Self

I am being fully present for it all
Surrendering to each sensation
Releasing emotions and letting go of old energies that do not serve me anymore
Accepting the journey for what it is and embracing the process
Shedding the old skin
Transforming my whole being
Becoming more of who I truly am

Because this experience is not just about birthing life and bringing a new soul earth side.
It is also about who I am becoming in the process…🤍

There was so many heart felt connections, emotions, words…

My heart was full and I felt so supported and loved!

I wasn’t sure this would be possible or could happen in time…it was truly meant to be and I am so grateful I got to experience this beautiful transformative moment with such amazing women.

It did so much for my heart…❤️‍🩹

Having moved from Europe by myself, leaving behind family & friends, navigating the motherhood journey has been challenging and has felt lonely at times…

As I am preparing for the birth of our 3rd baby, I feel I have finally found my village…

Support is a fundamental need for us women. It is a survival need. Without it we cannot thrive.

And I’ve learned it comes in many different ways…often most unexpected!

In this circle of women gathered to honour me as a mother and bless me with love and support, I felt held by not just the women present with me, but also all the women that came before me and will come after me…

I felt the support of my mother, my grandmothers and my great grandmothers and all our ancestors…they have my back!

I felt a strong connection to the Divine Feminine energy that longs to be fully embodied within each one of us, women.

Tears of joy, gratitude, love and surrender came surging through my body like waves washing away all fears, worries, doubt, sorrow & grief.

I am doing this for me.
For my daughters.
For my sisters, for my mother and grandmothers.
I am doing this for all the women. The ones that came before and the one that will come after.

I feel connected to all of us 🤍

We are women.
We are mothers & sisters.
We are the bringers of life.
The carers & nurturers.
The healers & cycle breakers.
The community builders.

Five beautiful women at different stages in life - mothers, wild woman, crone - all gathered in a circle around a magical altar of gifts & offerings.

The space and moment we created & shared together was magical, profound, intimate, transformative and spiritual ✨

The deck of cards with the “out of this world” art by 🇨🇦 artist @autumnskyeart was the perfect addition to a series of synchronicities that made everything fit together in perfect harmony!

The energy was so aligned and all of it was meant to be just the way it was.

I was so honoured and blessed to feel supported by such beautiful & amazing women.

I was so proud to be crowned the birthing Queen! No shame there 😄

Birthing a new life is a journey!

I have become so pasionate about the natural physiology of birth.

The way it was perfectly designed by the divine creator and how surrendering to the process of life with trust & faith totally transforms your entire being physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

I am still in the thick of it! Expecting our 3rd baby and preparing for another home/water birth.

I have learned SO MUCH since the start of my own motherhood journey in 2020 and yet there is still lots more to learn!

I am very excited about it all which is why I have decided to fine tune my offering…

I feel called in the direction of this new path for my practice with passion and a heart full of compassion and gratitude.

When the feelings inside are of excitement and expansion, you know it’s a “yes” 🤍

I am still discovering my unique gift and contribution. So right now, it is mostly a vision, a dream, a feeling and lots of ideas!
